Friendships, Forged.
Merit Badges, Earned.

Scouts attend Yawgoog summer camp in RI where they learn life skills, earn merit badges, and make friendships that last a lifetime.

In their words

“My favorite trip was Nobscot. I liked going there because we went on a hike and I got a lot of rank advancement done, leading to first class. One of my favorite parts was cooking hot dogs and marshmallows over the campfire.”

Richie, First Class

“One of my favorite trips was going to Normandy Farms. I liked it because there was a pool that I got to swim in with other people. I also did some fun stuff there, like playing frisbee golf and making a dessert that everyone liked.”

Mitchell, Life Scout

"My favorite camping trip of 2023 was the canoe trip. I enjoyed the trip because it was fun to race other scouts down the river, even though we got wet in the rain and we were tired paddling seemingly endless miles. I also enjoyed catching fish by the campsite."

Parker, First Class

“One of my many treasured moments inside of BSA was sitting around the campfire at Camp Yawgoog on the wooden benches staring at the firelight while Reverend Johnson was singing “Breakfast with my Dad”. It was so peaceful and the stars were so bright it felt like a new home.”

Lexi, Second Class

“My favorite scouting memory from the year of 2023 was from the canoe trip. I remember how everyone was miserable on the canoe trip to
the campground because it was relentlessly pouring rain. Most of the gear was wet and cooking was dreadful. The scouts showed perseverance that day and didn’t give up.

When the rain had died down, a campfire started. People were telling jokes and just enjoying the heat of the fire. This was my favorite memory from last year. How despite all that has happened, we as scouts can be cheerful and not let the negatives drag us down.”
