Troop 355B and Troop 355G

Scouts BSA Troops 355 program is open to boys and girls ages 11-17. Your child can join at any time during the school year.  The Troops run from September to June (we follow the Newton Public Schools calendar).  Scouts is the perfect way to spend time outside with your children.

The Troops host 10+ outdoor adventures during the school year and participates in Community Service

opportunities.  In recent years, we:

  • Hiked Mt. Monadnock

  • Went ice fishing in New Hampshire

  • Skied at Pat's Peak

  • Canoed and camped on the Charles River

  • Enjoyed our annual family camping trip at Normandy Farms

  • Went maple sugaring in Connecticut

  • And our Venture Crew backpacked at New Mexico's Philmont Ranch, one of BSA's High Adventure Camps!

Our Troop attends summer camp at Yawgoog Scout Reservation in Rhode Island, one of the top Scouts BSA camps in the world. We attend during Week 6, which is typically late July and the first week of August. Last summer, our Scouts earned over 180 merit badges at Yawgoog.

Troop 355B and Troop 355G are separate troops. Each troop elects its own youth leaders. The troops are “linked,” which means the calendar of events is the same for both troops. This allows families to jointly participate with their children on our camping, hiking, and service adventures.

Our Scout Masters are Christine Milliken and Brad Burres. You can reach them at Troop355Scouts@gmail.com.
